Refunds & Cancellation Policy
1. Cancellations by the Renter
We understand plans change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
- 48 hours or more before check in: Full refund issued
- Less than 48 hours before check in: No refund issued
- No-show: No refund issued
- Late return fees are subject to our Late Return Policy outlined in our Terms of Service.
All cancellation requests must be submitted by contacting us at [email protected] or calling 773-703-3142.
2. Cancellations by Chariot Rentals
In rare circumstances, Chariot Rentals may need to cancel a reservation due to vehicle unavailability, safety concerns, or other unforeseen events. In such cases, a full refund will be issued within 1-2 business days.
3. Modifications
Date and time modifications are subject to vehicle availability and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Modifications may result in a price adjustment based on updated rates.
4. Security Deposit Refunds
Security deposits are released within 1-3 business days after the vehicle is returned in its original condition. Deposits may be withheld in full or in part if there is damage, excessive cleaning required, a late return, or any policy violation.
Security deposits are due at CHECK-IN on the day of the trip.
5. Refund Processing
Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at booking. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider:
- Credit/Debit Card: 5–7 business days
- Zelle/Venmo/CashApp: 2–3 business days
- Cash: Returned in person at time of vehicle return
6. Non-Refundable Items
The following are non-refundable under any circumstances:
- Add-on fees (delivery, flowers, pre-paid refuel, car seat) once the rental period has begun
- Fees incurred due to policy violations
- Reservation cancelled due to invalid or expired license at check-in
- Reservation cancelled due to refusal of security deposit at check-in
