Refunds & Cancellation Policy

1. Cancellations by the Renter

We understand plans change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • 72 before check in: Full refund issued
  • Less than 72 hours before pickup: No refund issued
  • No-show: No refund issued

All cancellation requests must be submitted by contacting us at [email protected] or calling 773-703-3142.

2. Cancellations by Chariot Rentals

In rare circumstances, Chariot Rentals may need to cancel a reservation due to vehicle unavailability, safety concerns, or other unforeseen events. In such cases, a full refund will be issued within 1-2 business days.

3. Modifications

Date and time modifications are subject to vehicle availability and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Modifications may result in a price adjustment based on updated rates.

4. Security Deposit Refunds

Security deposits are released within 5–7 business days after the vehicle is returned in its original condition. Deposits may be withheld in full or in part if there is damage, excessive cleaning required, a late return, or any policy violation.

5. Refund Processing

Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at booking. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider:

  • Credit/Debit Card: 5–7 business days
  • Zelle/Venmo/CashApp: 2–3 business days
  • Cash: Returned in person at time of vehicle return

6. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Add-on fees (delivery, flowers, pre-paid refuel, car seat) once the rental period has begun
  • Fees incurred due to policy violations
